A Catered Maui Wedding on a Ranch in Waikapu

Posted by Christian Jorgensen

Apr 30, 2016 10:47:01 AM

The Olu Makani Olu Ranch in Waikapu is a working cattle ranch and an equine center offering trail rides, youth horse camps and more. While the ranch is home to Hawaii's largest Texas Longhorn herd, in early February it was also the venue for an amazing catered Maui wedding set beside a gently flowing mountain spring.

Early in the wedding planning process the bride described the theme she was seeking as an Aloha - Country! wedding. Her vision was to celebrate her grooms Wyoming heritage and the upcountry Maui lifestyle. I couldn’t think of a better wedding location to celebrate a country wedding on Maui with lots of Aloha and plenty of room for the 75 guests attending from 4 states to share the bride and groom’s festivities on their important day! Keep reading for details with the wedding catering menu and to view photos from the wedding.

Maui Chef Presents 11 Island Foods for Maui Visitors to Try

Posted by Christian Jorgensen

At our catered events and weddings on Maui, one of the most common questions asked by visitors is what they should eat while visiting the islands. As a professional chef, here are eleven of my favorite recommendations of what a food loving visitor should try to experience when you vacation on Maui. What could be better than expanding the typical food palette by trying a few new local dishes?

A Catered Maui Wedding at the Olowalu Plantation House Private Estate

Posted by Christian Jorgensen

Sep 10, 2015 10:36:14 AM

After nearly a year of planning and preparation, this past June we catered a wedding at the Olowalu Plantation House private estate in West Maui. The bride had heard about our wedding catering and planning services and was set on getting married at the west Maui private estate in Olowalu.

As is usually the situation planning a Maui wedding, numerous emails and a few phone calls occurred to plan and coordinate the wedding prior to the big day. The bride worked with us throughout the planning process, relying on our local knowledge and expertise planning Maui weddings. After an initial consultation with discussions about options and services, the couple chose to forgo the use of and expenses of a full service wedding planner, choosing instead to coordinate the wedding planning directly with me the chef, who would also be catering the reception.
